Why do you think that perfect strangers would like to sponser your wedding? If you can not afford to fund the wedding, then go down to the Justice of the Peace and get married there. Most people on this site are trying to figure out ways to cut costs for their own weddings; obviously they don`t have money to give to a stranger to pay for theirs.
You have some serious gaul coming on here saying you can`t afford to pay for your wedding and you want people to `sponsor` you. Get a second job and pay for it yourself - if you can`t, then either wait or go to the JOP.
People like you make me sick.

Well if Gwen is smart she would try to locate a printer to print (sponsorship) a program for her wedding where she would offer acknowledgement (free advertising for sponsoring vendors) of those who are sponsoring her wedding.
It may not reach the capacity of those reached by Ms. Jones`s sponsored wedding but it will reach people who may have not otherwise heard of her florist, caterer, wedding crafter, etc. Sounds like a win-win situation.

Sounds like Linda had a rough childhood and didn`t get in love from her parents( If raised by HUMANS)!!!!! Have you tried to go to your church? Most churches will provide decor and maybe a place for your reception for free. You pay for food. Or, try asking relatives to donate $5, $10, or $20 or more towards the wedding. Or, try moving the date back some. Outdoor weeding are cheap and are quite elegant. All you pay for is food. Local YMCA`s or community halls can provide chairs free of charge. Good luck and God Bless. Oh yeah, Linda seek help for your anger issues

I don`t think that Linda`s opinion is that far off. I think it is extremely tacky for someone to be asking for sponsers for a WEDDING. That is what is wrong with our society in general, everyone is living beyond their means. I believe Gwen is wanting something that she cannot afford, which is fine, but don`t expect others to give money for a Wedding (that the whole concept has become so commercialized) when there are tons of people out there that really need the money for non-materialistic things such as food and shelter etc. I agree if you really want to marry this person either go to the justice of the peace or wait a while and save some money. I doubt the church your fiance works for would condone this behavior.
