Beach Wedding

Hello I am planning to get married July 14 2003. I want to also have a beach wedding. Location my fiance and I are considering is Paradise Island. It`s going to be a small wedding close friends and immediate family members. One of my friends just recently vacationed there and said it was very very expensive. A simple continental breakfast for 2 was 40 bucks!! Does anyone know another Carribean Island I can consider looking into. Thanks it would be greatly appreciated...

My husband, Jeff, & I got married in the Bahamas (Freeport) on June 13, 2001. It was beautiful, affordable, & a wonderful memory! We got married on the beach, & brought our own video camera from home instead of hiring someone to do it. The activities coordinator was in charge of organizing our wedding, and she videotaped the whole thing perfectly! One word to the wise though...they do not do reharsals (at least the few places I asked)! If you`re able to just wing-it, then it`s perfect! It was really easy for us, because we had only family members there, & it was on the beach, so there was really no way to mess up. I also purchased some silk flowers & pretty ribbon that had my colors in them, & brought them with me. I also brought a picture from a magazine of the look I wanted for the boquet. Then, I had them included in the boquet with live white carnations (the typical flower included in many bridal packages). In the pictures, you`d never know which ones were fake & which ones were real, & I had the exact shade of blue flower that I wanted! Best of all..enjoy!

Try the Dominican Republic, it`s cheap, non-commercialized compared to Jamaica or Cancun, Mexico. If your Canadian, Cuba is the way to go. Beautiful beaches and the nicest people you will ever meet. All-inclusive is the best. Look in the travel books available from a travel agent for resorts that offer wedding packages. (some are free!)

My fiancé and I are getting married in Cuba in April 2004. It is so cheap - therefore many of friends and family members can join us for our wonderful day!

I was just married in April, on Andros Island, Bahamas, at a place called Small Hope Bay. Its very inexpensive. Very beautiful location and EVERYONE at the resort is very helpful and friendly, very relaxed. If you are looking for a very simple wedding, this is the place! We are scuba divers, so this was the perfect location for us. They do cater to non-divers as well. Its an all inclusive place (meals and beverages are included). Wedding package is an extra $400-500. Package includes bridal bouquet, flower crown and/or anklet, custom-made video, small reception, wedding cake and champagne. Commissioner`s or preacher`s stipend is extra. Check out their website, Small Hope Bay Lodge. Good Luck!

I`m getting married on July 19, 2003 and can`t pick a place! At first it was the Dominican Republic because of the great prices and beaches, but flight alone are $700 and that`s too much for our guests. Now we are looking at other options, but would love a beach wedding.

I just got back from Nassau a week ago. My fiance and I are planning on getting married there in early 2004. We are getting married at Breezes on Cable Beach. It`s very close to Paradise Island but not quite as expensive. Breezes is all inclusive so you don`t have to worry about the cost of food and/or drinks. Best of all, weddings are free there! Good luck on finding a good spot!

HI! Congrats on your engagement... I travel a lot, i work for an airline that island hops in the caribbean. I would have to recommend san juan, puerto rico. Its convient from the states(all major airlines fly there), its a u.s. Territory, so no passports, and its very inexpensive. Besides, it is beautiful. White sandy beachs, cerulean blue waters, and very friendly people. Don`t let the fact that spanish is their main language disuade you either, because the majority of puerto ricans speak english. Best wishes for you both.

I got married in Cystral Cove State Beach, Laguna Beach 12 years ago. Of course it was beach wedding. It cost me $100 for reservation park plus food, service, etc. Your area is more prettier than mine. My first choice was Oahu but it was more expensive. Good luck!!

Oahu, Hawaii has wedding packages for as little as $95. I am renewing my vows March 2004 and we are doing it on a secluded beach. The whole wedding will cost under $500!
