60th Birthdy Party Ideas

My Mom is turning 60 in January 2006 and we would like to plan a fun (not tacky) potluck birthday party.
She likes having fun, but is not a fan of clowns or anything tacky.
She is a Red Hat Society member and loves to travel & shop.
She likes `pretty` things.
We will be holding it in our community hall.
I am just trying to give you an idea of what she is like.
I appreciate any ideas you all have.

My mom is also a Red Hat Society lady. If you are doing pot luck, tell everyone to bring food from different places. I`ve been to parties were people bring a bottle of wine and a food to match where the wine came from. Decorations can have to do with traveling. Hope everything goes well

I would love t o help you out with pretty centerpieces and favors for the 60th Birthday Party. I could do some really neat things with the Red Hat Society theme and a travel theme. You could give away the centerpieces at the end of the day in a contest of some sort as well.
