Any Halloween Brides Or Halloween Ideas?

Our wedding is 10.28.06 of next year and our colors are dark purple, lime green (may switch to white), and black...

We`re not having a full out Halloween wedding but I`m looking for some ways to incorporate it a little bit into the reception.

So far, I`m having a Halloween themed candy buffet and I`m making up some Halloween themed gift bags for the kids (with coloring books and fun stuff)

Anyone have any other ideas/pictures I could see? Thanks!

Jack-o-lanters - instead of the usual grinnig or scary face, carved unique designs that will compliment your wedding (check out the do it yourself design kits) scatter them throughout your reception site or use them as centerpieces.

Use wired ribbons in wedding colors to add decorative accents to tables, pews, aisle.

Fortune cookies or mini cauldrons filled with your choice of candy can be given as favors.

Have the DJ play Monster Mash, Thriller and other appropriate Halloween music throughout the night.

Headstone place settings

Just some ideas, hope you can use at least one of them. Congratulations and Good Luck!

A girl after my own heart. I want an October wedding close to Halloween. We want fall colors and decor. I want a pumpkin patch and hay ride feel. We want an evening ceremony.
I am thinking for my dress- Off white/cream colored and my bridesmaid - burnt orange.
We are having a backyard wedding in South Florida.
We love the fall and want that feel.
I would also like suggestions.

Hi Grace - I would love to help you out with this!! I have been dying to do something in a Halloween type theme and your colors sound awesome. So much so I would even work out a discount with you!!! Email me anytime. I have the cutest jars that would be so neat for a Halloween candy buffet as they look like litte old time candy jars.

Grace,
I am a coordinator, and my brother is getting married on Halloween of this year.
They are sitting the punch bowl inside a black cauldron with dry ice to look like smoke.
They are also having great feather and sequin masks for the bridesmaids to wear and Phantom of the Opera masks for the groomsmen.
They are having small masks, tiaras, dracula teeth, etc. On the guest book table for the guests to wear if they choose.

Hope these ideas help you!

Valerie,

I love the idea of the Halloween masks for the bridal party and on the guest tables - where are they getting from or are they making them? Thanks!

Grace, My son is getting married the same day. We got our mask from Anytime Costumes. They are located in PA. It took for me one day . The mask are very well made and the price was great. Michael is haveing the wedding party in renaissance costumes. The guest can come in costumes if they like. They found a cracking fiberotic witch at Hallmark. She will be next to the sign in book. Here is the website for the mask: www.anytimecostumes.com. Also Oriental Trading Co. Has a lot of mask to order for your guest.

I`m getting married next Halloween and a friend bought me a book with great wedding tips. One of them was for a Halloween wedding and said instead of traditional jack-o-lanterns to carve both your intials into the pumpkins instead. It`d be a wonderful way to make the wedding more personal and we`re planning on doing it as well.

Congrats and hope your day is as perfect as you`ve wished it to be.

Check out finestationary.com they have some Halloween invites that you custom make so you can make it a wedding invite instead. Also I was looking in a Brylane mag today & they have lots of fall decor that would work great for a fall wedding. They`re web site is brylane.com. You could also pick up a lot of stuff after halloween when it all gets marked down.

Hey Grace!
They ordered the small plain black masks in bulk from Oriental Trading. The masks for the wedding party they ordered from a Mardi Gras website, I will try to find out which one for you; there are lots of good ones out there though. I think they paid about $6.00 ea for the girls` and $8.00 for the guys. You can also find some right now at local party stores in the Halloween section.

We are having a Halloween wedding on Oct 28th, 2006 also. We have decided upon a masquerade ball theme with Halloween/fall accents. Each guest will have a mask placed at their seat along with a empty candy bag. At the desert table we will have a cauldrun full of candy to fill the empty bag with. Many of the accents in the wedding will have leaves as well.

...and our honeymoon is planned for Salem Mass.

I know you don`t really want the halloween wedding. If you do however, I saw a segment on TV. This couple got married in Salem, Oregon. The Bride of course wore white, and her bridesmaids were pretty witches. The Groom wore black and looked like Dracula and the Groomsmen were dressed as vampires. It looked awesome. I belive their reception hall was draped with spider webbing and jack o lanterns. I would make lumanaries out of paper bags, or you could use gourds as candle holders. It really was an awesome idea. I got married November 4th....However, I got married in Cancun, Mexico. LOL I went with the beach theme =)

Good Luck!! I think it`ll look great =)

I`m planning our wedding for Oct. 28 too, and we wanted to have some Halloween touchy but nothing too crazy. Does anyone know a polite way to tell guests NOT to wear costumes?

I too am getting married over Halloween weekend on Friday 10-27-06. We too want it to be Halloween themed at the reception. Halloween is our favorite holiday,
We are going to have black and orange napkins at the tables and our center pieces are black iron vase type things... We are going to have spider webbing on these as well as glow in the dark spider rings. I found these really cool color changing lights to put under the vase. At pumkinlights.com These light change color (7 colors)... Our sweet table will also be decked out in webbing and we have a few candleabras we found at Orinetal trading which we will incorporate on the sweet table. We are going to have the theme to Halloween as our entrance song and will be having fog when we enter the hall.. I too have tombstone place settings. I will also be putting these cute foam type masks on the tables for the guests to wear if they choose for a few songs ,,, such as the monster mash, timewarp and Thiller. The groomsmen will all being wearing black with light orange vests, the bridesmaids will be in light orange/with black lace.
We plan on having the theme to JAWS for when we cut the cake... It should be an awesome night. If anyone has any other type of suggestions on other things to use. Please email me

Oh, my god, kindred spirits!!!! I am getting married on Oct. 28th this year and it is a full costumed reception. Everyone in black, but me. Trad. White. But with an elegant mask. We also have masks and candied apples as our take home favors. Jack-o-laterns and Candlabras as the center peices. Fall leaves everywhere. Scattered. Floor, tables, ect. Fog machines, fortune teller, candy bar and a themed drink "The Zombie". It`s more or less a green drink that is really called a midori sour. I could go on forever and ever. There is so much more detail than what I can say here. Our pictures will be taken at a local pumpkin patch after the ceremony and most of the creepy music will be from a group called midnight syndicate. I`ve got ideas coming out the wazooooo. Let me know if I can help.

Thanks for the other ideas the fortune teller sounds great... I did not think of anything like that... Our photographer wants to take pre-wedding photo`s of us and our family... The pumpkin patch (pumpkin farm) sound like a great place for those to be taken.
Take care...Lisa

I am also getting married on Halloween day this year and I have found ways to incorporate the holiday into a classy wedding. Freed`s Bakery in Las Vegas did a wonderful spider web cake that I am having a friend make for me. Http://www.freedsbakery.com/weblock and I have found the perfect wedding topper on ebay that has black ribbons and skeletons for the groom and bride to place onto the cake. I made glitter pumpkins from paper mache pumpkins I bought for $1 each (an idea I got from Martha Steawart) and am opting to cut off the top of them and place fall flowers for my centerpieces. I took plain glass votives and used black paint to paint on spider webs on them as well. Also if you look on Ebay, I used personalized Halloween invitations and made them into wedding invitations. The options are endless. Hope this helps and have fun on your special day!
