Hi there, I read your posting about fall weddings and you sounded overwhelmed. I`m getting married in about 3 weeks, We are also having an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception. We are in New England and took or surroundings as inspiration. Once we decide on a theme, everything we needed to pick out or think of needed to fit that theme.

We are having a pumpkin patch outside, on each pumpkin we are attaching a recipe for toasted pumpkin seeds. The large amount of pumpkins will be a beatiful backdrop for photos and then they will be great seasonal favors for our guests.

We`re serving hot mulled cider before the ceremony so while guests are waiting for us they don`t get chilled.

Our placecards are theme consistant, they are fall leaves in various shapes and colors.

I am an invitation designer so all our printed materials, from save the dates, invitations, thank you`s, ceremony programs, and table cards, to menus and guest welcome basket tags. (these baskets are placed in hotel rooms for out of town guests and are filled with seasonal treats) all are in line with our theme.

Even our centerpieces are pumpkins that have been carved all the way a round with beautiful leaf patterns.

Since October (our month) is associated with Halloween, we did a more elegant twist on the idea of tons and tons of candy. We decided to have a dessert buffet after our sit down dinner. Featuring things like Pumpkin cheesecake and warm apple crisp, and chocolate.

I know this was long.. But I hope it helps you. There is such an abundant opportunity for seasonal inspiration. I`m sure you will have a beatiful event!

-Good Luck

Hi there im haviing a fall wedding also and by the looks of things so is every one else on this website fall is just a beautiful season and everyone wants to use it... I am also going with the pumpkins as centerpieces with a floral arrangment in each one the tops will be cut and cleaned out and our flowers will just placed in them, and were using scented candles such as pumpkin spice and apple cinnimon because not only do you want the look of fall but the aroma also. Then were taking the smaller pumpkins and carving out hearts and placing a candle in to reprsent some lighting. Our seating cards are going to be on leaves that weve painted gold and then write there name across the middle, my friend used apples as hers she just wrote the names across the middle of a shiny red apple and the guest loved it. Our main colors are gold, burnt orange, and ivory. Were using hay stacks to decorate and the leaf garland to but around the colums. Theres tons of neat things you can do just let your imagination soar.................

Also for our reception dinner were going with a tankgiving dinner style to add to the fall vibe with pumpkin pie and apple cinnimon swirl cake, Also at the reception the carmel and candy apples bring the fall eye appeal and the guest really like them its very popular idea to use.
Well hope you have a beautiful wedding and good luck !

Want a monogram on the cake top with a fall twist and without the high price? Make your own with a small pumpkin with your initials carved out or with rhinestones stuck in the pumpkin.
