Used Dresses

My daughter and I had heard some horror stories about David`s but decided to see for ourselves. We went in w/o an appt. But they were very agreeable to let my daughter try on one of the dresses...very accomodating...AT FIRST. So we made an appt to come back in a look at more dresses. At the next appt., I felt like the "redheaded step-child." If my daughter`s friend hadn`t been there, she wouldn`t have gotten one dress tried on b/c they (the clerks) just sort of disappeared. We decided on a dress and was pleasantly surprized to find that is was "on sale," so we decided to order the dress. We went in today to try on the dress and make sure the size was right (didn`t have her size in the dress we wanted when we first tried it on...had to go by the size of a different dress, but felt it would be ok). She put on what we thought was a NEW dress, only to find ink marks and make-up stains and beads missing off the dress....it was obviously NOT A NEW DRESS BUT ONE FROM ANOTHER STORE. When I asked if this was common practice to sell dresses fron another store w/o even mentioning it was a "sample" dress....and then try to charge me $900? The saleslady said YES!!!! I don`t think so. They offered to get it cleaned and I just said "no, I want another dress...not previously worn by anyone else!" All sales are final for a reason...they rip you off! But, they did offer to get another dress, so now we will wait and see if the next one is really from the distributor or not.
