Depro

I am currently on the nuva ring which I loved until about 5 months ago when I started experiencing irregurlar bleeding every month. It usually lasts a week or longer and is accompanied by extremely painful cramping. My doctor and I discussed switching to the shot because it stops your period, but I am concerned about the side effects, but also cannot go on with having my period and extreme abdominal pain for almost half a month every month.
