Small Hotels With An Ocean View For Weddings

Does anyone know of any small hotels that are located in the los angeles or orange county area with an ocean view for weddings? i would prefer a cliff overlooking the ocean for the ceremony...... Not on the sand. Any ideas would be great!

Hi. There are a ton of hotels in Orange County. The Surf and Sand in Lagua, the Montage in Laguna, The Ritz Carlton in Dana Point, St. Regis in Dana Point, The Laguna Cliffs Marriott in Laguna Hills, Hotel Laguna, Occaisions in Laguna is a terrace venue that supposedly has awesome weddings. There are a lot :) I am planning my wedding in OC and the date is set for 6-17-06. I was booked at the Ritz, but chose a smaller location with no view, but a really great place because it was a little less expensive but still awesome. I have checked out all the places around here, so if you have any questions, please, don`t hesitate. I have been through hell and back the last 3 months in checking out all the sites here in OC : ) jinjerharstad17@yahoo.com

No prob! If you are looking for a cliff type wedding, there is nothing that will beat the Ritz Carlton in Dana Point. It is by far the best view and setup. Have fun!

Yeah, the ritz is really but kinda pricey. My sister just had a wedding and it only had 80 people there so it was kind of cheap and I have to keep around the same pricelines. But the problem is I am going to have 200+ people. But something like the ritz would be perfect just not as expensive. It is not that bad of pricing except for the fact that mine is on a saturday night making it i think 120 pp minimum *sighs. So no ritz for me.....

I hear ya. That is why I switched. I am having 125-150 people and it would have been about 80k and still very plain! So I was 100% determined to have an ocean view. Then I checked out a place in Laguna called 7 degrees. It will hold 200 people for sure, up to 320. It is amazing. Their package includes tons of neat lighting, food, wedding planner team, etc. The venue has been used by MTV and lots of stars. It is a one of a kind place. You can look at it online, but you can`t even understand it unless you go there. It is awesome! I was 100% determined on the Ritz, then I went here and booked it. You should check into it. Lots of fun things there...the ladies that work there are also phenomenal...

I have photographed many beach weddings in southern California.
I agree that Seven Degrees is beautiful. When I photographed a wedding there we also did some great photography of the wedding party at Crescent Bay Point Park in Laguna Beach. Check that out for great pictures on a beautiful cliff overlooding the beach. Check out my website at www.abeautifuldayphoto.com. Look at the Sara and Joe wedding. The Montage Resort is awesome, too, for cliffs overlooking the ocean, on-the-beach photography and elegance--small, simple weddings or large affairs.
Best wishes!

May I ask, what your wedding cost at Seven-Degrees. I am also pricing out a wedding, at approximately 80 Gs, and wondering if Seven Degrees is comparable or a better value...

Wedding was great. The only issue was the wedding planners there were HORRIBLE and once they got the money, they made a TON of mistakes and did nothing to rectify the situation. If I could do it all over again, I would 100% not have had the wedding there. The food staff customer service was a mess. My mother had her coffee refilled ONE time! I swear, it was a nightmare and I will never forgive them for the horribe service. They make you feel like a million bucks until they get your final payment, then the day oo, they don;t help, are rude and it was bad. So girl, I guess what I am trying to say is don;t go there. The venue is funky and fun, but it is not worth the money!!!

I forgot to answer your main question. It was 80k.

Thanks for the input....for 80K it should be perfect...I have a deposit down at the St Regis, but thought I found something better, guess not---thanks again!

Go for the St. Regis. You can`t beat that. The place is amazing and I bet the customer service will be second to none! I wish you the best day ever! Savor every moment. It goes by faster than you can imagine. And my only other word of advice - get a GOOD photographer!
