Davids Bridal Complaint

As a bride, I had a terrible experience with Davids Bridal in Greenville NC. We ordered brides maid dresses from them and tried to cancel a few days later. We were told orders could not be cancelled. Now we are disputing refunds and Davids Bridal is not even responding. I sent a certified letter to the CEO/President with no response. The shoes we ordered were dyed and were not suspose to be. One of my girls got the wrong style of shoes and Davids Bridal refused to exchange her shoes for the correct pair that she ordered. This girl was so angry that she refused to pick up her dress which added to the cancellation of my wedding. She was still charged for the merchandise even though she did not pick it up. My sister talked to some girl associated with the CEO/president, who said that the order could have been stopped when we had requested it earlier, however, the store had refused to do this, and this was not even a consideration for a refund. Needless to say my sister got no where with the woman. Customer service is extremely poor and inflexible, the worse I have ever experienced, a pure nightmare. Not once would Davids Bridal accept responsibility for their mistakes in ordering and they were rude from the beginning. I would advise not doing business with this store. I will never set foot in there again.

This is the letter I wrote to David`s Bridal this evening. These people truly suck!

My future daughter in law, her Mom, her Grandmother, and myself went to David`s in Greenville around the end of July. Fortunately, my daughter in law and her Mom, are "perfect" sizes, therefore their shopping experience (at least at the time) was easier. Her Grandmother, and myself, were much more difficult, and when we found a dress and style that complimented our figure, but were concerned that it was a little too tight here or there, we were told "I`m sorry. They don`t come that big." We were speaking about a size 18. I knew at that moment, I`d travel 500 miles NOT to shop at any David`s Bridal. I eventually found my dress at Bedazzled. Great staff - maybe you should look into how they train them.

Fortunately, my daughter in law found something in her budget, and that she loved. She placed it on layaway, to be picked up this week. I just got a phone call from her, and she had picked up her dress, but was livid regarding the "service". She had made a 7PM appointment, but when she arrived, ALL sales personnel were helping ONE bride find the $6000 dress of her dreams. She went ahead and paid for hers and the lady began placing the bag in a "dry cleaning" bag. She told the lady that the saleswoman at the time of the sale had included the $10 cost of the bag in the entire sale (more as a courtesy). The woman said, "NO! YOU MUST PAY FOR THIS BAG!" So, another $10, added already to her $700 bill, so her dress wouldn`t be too messed up. The lady began to hand her the bag and my DIL said, "Um, is there someone who could help me try this on one more time, to make sure there are no alterations needed?", and the woman said, "We`re busy!" At this point, my DIL said, "Ma`am . . . I had a 7PM appointment. Are you trying to tell me that I had to make an appointment to get my dress out of layaway????" Her girls for the wedding were there, and one young lady said to your Professional staff @@, "You guys really suck! You have got to be the rudest people I have ever met. But at least I found out BEFORE I got engaged and bought a gown from you!" This apparently, didn`t phase the saleswoman at all.

Trust me when I say, that everyone I speak to from here on out, will know where NOT to shop. And being the shopaholic that I am, and the numerous nieces, daughters of friends, etc. That I know - I`ll be sure to pass along our experiences. Your saleswomen/girls leave a lot to be desired. At this point, I wouldn`t recommend anyone hire them to shovel cow crap - cows deserve more than that. Currently, I am unemployed - but at the ripe ol` age of 54, I could dance circles around your "professionals", and would have happy and repeat customers.

As it is, my daughter in laws girls, will be purchasing their dresses elsewhere, and fortunately, her Mother was going to wait until this Saturday to purchase the $250 dress. Instead, we`ll travel the extra 45 miles and go to Bedazzled . . . Where every bride and her party, are treated with class. I am truly disgusted by David`s Bridal.
