To be honest, the person receiving the invitations looks at it for 2 seconds and the envelope gets tossed right in the garbage. It`s a total waste of money. The postman looks at longer than invited guest does.
Save your money on other meaningful things. Have someone with nice handwriting write them out. As long as it`s neat, that will set the tone enough.

Thanks for your imput. I have been doing calligraphy for over 20 years and not one person has complained to me that it has been a waste of their money. I have found that many brides take great pride in how their invitations appear to their guests as it is the first impression they receive about your wedding.
Here are some quotes from my clients who were very pleased with having their invitations done this way.....
"Cami was extremely professional and provided superior door-to-door service in a very timely manner. Her work was amazing; one invitee already told me she didn`t want to open the invitation because the calligraphy was so beautiful she didn`t want to rip the envelope. She is affordable and you won`t find finer craftsmanship."
Leighton Y. - Jacksonville, FL
"Cami did a fantastic job on my invitations! I was sceptical at first about hiring a calligrapher, but now I am SOOOOOOOO happy that I did!"
Wendi M. - Jacksonville, FL
"Cami did such a wonderful job on my wedding invitations. She was quick and very professional in helping me get my wedding invitations together. I would recommend her to anyone."
Eva P. - Lakeland, FL
As you can see, Calligraphy was not "a waste of money" to these pleased customers.

There is no doubt in my mind that you do beautiful work. But for the average bride who doesn`t have a lot of money....this is one area they could totally skip. This wedding is about the people getting married....and it will be beautiful regardless if the invitations were all done up or not.
If you are a bride....and want to go all out for your wedding....hey - get your invitations done up this way. But if you are trying to find ways to cut corners, I`m just saying this is a good place to start since very few people keep the actual envelope your invitation came in, not to mention the invitation itself.

Who said that every bride out there is looking to cut corners? I had my invitations done in calligraphy and I had tons of compliments and comments. People notice. It IS worth it.

Dito ... It really is beautiful ... Sorry folks.
It`s only a waste to someone who doesn`t want it. I like it....
2 thumbs up from me!

That`s great that you like it.....all power to you. But wake up and smell the cappuccino! Reality is people look at....they think, "Gosh, that`s cool" and into the garbage it goes. I would rather take the money spent on that and put it towards something that was going to last a tad bit longer and that people will enjoy more than a few seconds.

My guess is that Dawn pissed off everyone in her wedding so they trashed all her cards ... People who love you will adore the effort.
Dawn, your an ass.
Dawn, your an ass.

No Coryelle, YOU`RE the ass! Just because someone disagrees with YOUR oppinion, doesn`t mean they`re in ass. If you go through your life thinking that way, you`ll have a long tough road ahead of you. Grow up.

But it was ok for her to come on here trashing the idea of having the card done with something other than with a crayon ....
Your up dawn`s ass....

Why dont you retract your face from the crap you`ve got it shoved in and take a wiff of the real world... People like things other than the junk your handing out for your circus wedding .... I bet your gonna have donkeys to ride too .... Is it take a number, or just stand in the 100 person line .... ???
I bet your cards were done with crayons too ... Except you`ve probably upgraded to writting them out with your toes too ... Awah how cute ..... Hainus Bee-otch ...

Emily....Don`t worrry about Coryelle.....did you see how hostile she was i n that message? Wow. Talk about a bridezilla!!!
Obviously, Coryelle, you are so unhappy with YOUR life that you have try to use words like "ass", "moron", and sentences like "retract your face from the crap you`ve got your face shoved in" (Was that sentence really necessary...not to mention unappropriate!!!!) In all honesty, your email makes you sound like one insecure person with no sense of class. Try re-reading your message again. I`m sure others will agree with me how pathetic you sound.
And to you other bashing statement....no people didn`t throw away my cards (aka: invitations). BUT they DID throw away the envelope. That is my personal experience and I`m sorry if my family has better things to hold onto than their name and address done up in calligraphy.

**(laughs)** Coryelle, you can`t be serious! I`m not a moron. I never said you wrote the message. You did agree with it however when you posted; "Dito ... It really is beautiful ... Sorry folks. It`s only a waste to someone who doesn`t want it. I like it....2 thumbs up from me!" Nice try. Why are you on this site? It`s obvious your not here to help others. Go ahead and post another nasty reply. I`ve moved on from this thread as of now, I`m no longer interested in arguing with someone who is unable to communicate like an adult.
