Maid Of Honor And Best Man

I am having a simple wedding without bridesmaids, ushers, a best man or a maid of honor. My question is... How do I go about having a witness for our license signing. Does someone that I ask in advance just come up and sign when it is time?

I would think that would be the case. Even a parent could be a witness. When you get your marriage license ask them.
