Invitation Etiquette
Since my would-be new home is small and I have all the bare necessities/appliance, how can I properly indicate in my invitation that cash gifts are preferred without sounding too crass?

I wholeheartedly agree with Kay, with one slight exception: you may mention money in an invitation should you wish, in lieu of gifts, that your guests make a small monetary donation to a charity of their choice, possibly in your name.
