Beach Wedding Dress

I am planning a wedding on the beach, having a very hard time finding the perfect dress, I don`t want the typical formal dress. I can make it my self or have an Aunt that can. Please help!

Terrible isn`t it, all those dresses and not one that is suitible. If your like me you don`t want anything to hot and heavy either! Just something light, airy and summer, or sundress type. Maybe it would be a great market for us to go into. Celia

I had the same problem (I got married in April, on the Beach). I ended up having someone make the dress for me. I had pictures of 3 different dresses (how I wanted the top to be, how I wanted the bottom to be,etc) I took it to a dress shop in Santa Ana, Ca. And they made the dress exactly, how I wanted and it was very reasonable. Good Luck!

I too am experiencing the same problem! I am taking a cruise at the end of the summer and will be getting married on the beach in St. Thomas. I`ve spent hours upon hours searching the internet for such a dress....the closest I`ve come is when I look at `prom` dresses. Very often I`ll find cute, simple, flowing white dresses such as the one you`ll see at (www.edressme.com/lacandtulpro.html) but either they are out of the `white` ones or they are out of my size! If you look at prom dresses, instead of wedding gowns, you`ll often see strapless, or spaghetti straps, above the ankle lengths and some shorter - and they`re white! Good luck!

Hi Ladies,
I have a white sheath with a detachable train. I always thought this would be nice for a beach wedding. It is very light -kinda tank top style but with a little more class. The back is open. I have a pic if you would like to see it.It is hard to explain. Please e-mail me at akb1red@aol.com if interested.

Hi,

I just saw a dress on the Nordstrom web site that would be appropriate for a beach wedding. It is very simple, with spaghetti straps and is a kind of sheer beaded fabric. I am considering getting it myself for my second wedding.
