How To Write Thank You Cards For Cash Gifts

We were married on June 11, 2005. 98% of our gifts received were cash/checks. I was told not to mention the "amount" in the thank you...but any suggestions on how to word the thank you card? We used the majority of the money received for a great honeymoon! Thanks

Dear Judy,

To say thanks for cash/checks, word your note similar to this:
"Thank you so much for your generous gift! Joe and I used it towards a great get-a-way after the wedding. We really appreciate your thoughtfulness!``
It is always nice to include a reference to how you spent the money.
