Paper Shower

My fiance and I already have a house, and everything we need for it. Also, we have a baby on the way. For our wedding gifts, we want money only, as we do not need any more appliances or things for the home. Therefore, we only want to have a paper shower. Some family members think that it is tacky, and that we shouldn`t do it. I say it`s our wedding, and we can do what we want. Is having a paper shower ok? And if so, how do is the invite worded so that it doesn`t sound tasteless?
