Motivated College Grad Seeks Even Planning Career!

I am a recent college graduate of Binghamton University. I had done even planning for a few years as a hobby until I realized it was my calling and, about two years ago, decided that it`s the only career for me. Can anyone give me advice as to how to go about getting a job? I`m an asst. Manager at a marketing research company right now and I`m absolutely miserable. Events planning is what i love and that`s what I need to do. ANY suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
