Placecards

When writing out placecards so you write Mr. And Mrs. Smith and then include their children all on their own card. And with single guest and their dates do you put them on the same card or give them individual cards too. Any suggestions would be great. My wedding is in 18 days and I can`t seem to figure tis out.
