Getting Married When 8 Months Pregnant
Hello-
I am currently 3 months pregnant. We got engaged a year ago and startedf planning our wedding for November 26, 2005 (thanksgiving weekend) . We already booked the hall, the flowers the cake etc and I ordered my dress...very efficient ly. I had no clue that I was going to be 8 months pregnant and walking down the aisle, yikes it scares me to think about it. We have not yet told our parents that I am pregnant and will be almost due at the wedding. I don`t want to move up the wedding since people have made plans to travel from far and celebrate thanksgiving with us. I am also worried about being some sort of "spectacle" with my HUGE belly. Has anyone else been in my situation previously? what did you do?
Thanks
Dani

Elope now, push the wedding back until after the baby is born. Do you really want to spend your wedding day that pregnant? I`m sure you can rearrange everything. You need to tell your parents, soon they`ll catch on. Good luck, I hope it works out!

I`m in the same boat hun. My fiance and I had our wedding all planned out for March 4th, 2006 and we found out a few days ago that we`re pregnant and due on the 16th of March, 2006. We are currently working with the folks who my wedding is booked through to change the date however we having a hard time deciding when. I`ve gotten lots of advice that I do NOT want to be 8 months pregnant when I walk down the isle because the entire night is standing and hectic. Right now we`re looking at moving the ceremony to either November or May. While I`d prefer to be married before the baby comes, it`s will require a lot of hectic planning and a lot of money 5 months before we planned. To be honest, unless it`s very important to you to be married when the baby comes, I`d move the ceremony to the month or two after it`s due.

I think it is an individual decision that you have to make. I got married las year at 34 wks pg. I had a great time and it went very well. I found some beautiful dresses to chose from and my family was very supportive (despite being strict catholics). Feel free to email me (barriosraquel@hotmail.com).

Yes, my daughter was in the same situation. We planned her wedding for a year and found out in Nov 2003 that she was pregnant. Everything was paid for and we couldn`t get our money back. I was excited about my daughters wedding and her new arrival as well (we didn`t think she could have kids) so that was a blessing. We exchanged the first wedding dress (size 10) and bought another one in a (size 18). The bridal store was able to alter it to her stomach. Because of the way the dress was made, some people couldn`t tell she was even pregnant, (71/2 months pregnant) If you would like to see a picture, I can e-mail it to you. My daughter and her husband was really glad they went with the original plans instead of changing them because of her preganancy. Everything was beautiful! Congratulations

Lis, the lady asked for advice concerning her wedding date not your judgement or birth control advice. If your e-mail was sent based on you being a christian and truly concerned about her soul, (being a sinner) the tone of your e-mail wouldn`t be the way it is. But what is truly amazing to me is that out of all the people in the universe, you just happen to be the only one who has never ever sinned and if you have, you of all people should know that we have a GOD above that can forgive everyone.

Wow, you would think it was 1950 by some of the hostility still surrounding ladies who are pregnant when they get married. Hey, you are getting married and that`s the important thing. Don`t change your plans...just go with it! Seriously, even if you moved the date until after the birth, you`ll have a baby then. What if the baby was sick the day of the wedding? Or, you could wind up like me....I moved my wedding date until 6 months after my sons birth, and wound up getting pregnant again when he was 8 weeks old so I STILL wound up pregnant on my wedding day :) The world works in mysterious ways, just enjoy every day as it comes and things will work out fine. Don`t stress over what others think. If you end up needing a maternity wedding dress and don`t mind something semi-casual let me know. I have mine listed on ebay right now. Good luck!

Helena, I would like to see a pic of your daughter in her wedding dress. I am getting married on the 4th of Oct and my baby is due on the 24th of Dec, so I will be very pregnant! I`m very excited, a little dissapointed at the same time. I pictured my wedding day as me being slim in my gorgeous dress, but I think that carrying my baby will make me look even more gorgeous!
