I am in a wedding party and wonder what the standard amount to present as gift. I am giving cash. He is a really good friend.

Whatever amount you want! We always give $100 to relatives whether they are getting married or graduating from school.
I would say, since this is a good friend, that anything under $50 would be an insult.
