Mother And Son Songs

I just got married 3 weeks ago and my groom didn`t choose the Mother/Son song till almost the day of. He finally chose "Summer Wind" by Frank Sinatra, as it is lively enough to dance to, and also he told his mom that the lyrics reminded him of the memories of their summers together when he was a kid. Really, lots of Sinatra tunes could have worked as well. Another choice we had thought about was "Blackbird" by the Beatles, which is a beautiful song (makes me cry everytime) which the lyrics seem to parallel setting a child free ("take these broken wings and learn to fly...") It is a little slow, but the lyrics and the guitar is beautiful and I would have chosen it for myself if I didn`t already have a song for my dad. A friend is getting married and chose to dance with his mother to a version of a song she used to sing to him as a child. "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler is also a very common (if not too common) choice for something more....common.
