October Wedding
I`m also getting married in October `05 and am on a limited budget. Depending on where you live, an outdoor wedding will be really pretty especially if you have leaves changing. I`m in Houston so it will be hot and no leaves change until November. I had a friend who married in a park and decorated an arch with white bow, little white lights and lots of tulle. Very inexpensive and looked great. If your wedding is in the day, maybe ditch the lights and add some silk flowers in your color. I would love to exchange ideas - I`m looking for fairly inexpensive finger foods for around 125 people. Thanks.

I am the mother of the bride we are doing a wedding oct 29 in san antonio. We are hoping for good weather. We are having the ceremony outdoors and the reception indoors. We have rented the venue but we are self catering to save money. We are some decorations planned and a basic menue plan but lots of details left to work out. Would you like to share info

I would love to exchange ideas - really I am the mother of the bride also - Amy is my daughter. Just trying to help her out here. We are having the wedding and the reception indoors but are definitely self catering. This food thing has me stuck. We have the decorations about determined - we have 22 silk topiaries (Hobby Lobby), 2 on each 20" table which we are decorating with ribbon and small flowers. Amy`s colors are plum almost eggplant and a blue that blends in and cream. Next to the topiaries, we are putting small clear bowls for floating candles and small bowls from Pier One that are plum on the outside, cream on the inside with one live flower floating. All of this goes down the center of the table and will probably be linked by ribbon or something? We also did CD`s of the kids favorite songs that meant something special to them and they are to be wrapped in colored rice paper with a small ribbon and a label with names and wedding date. Inside, there is the list of songs and what they mean to the kids. Amy wanted the cake table to be all white on white so I luckily found some silk creamy rose bouquets (yea half price) to go somewhere on the table. We also have the little bubbles with a ribbon and small flower. Coming in to the reception, there is a arch with small white lights and white tulle. We will have sparklers when the happy couple leave the hall. This is a plain room so any help you can give me on the walls would be appreciated. I`m at work so I can tell you about the church later but I hope this helped. We have a lot of ideas that didn`t quite work for us but might be great for you. Don`t you love being the mother of the bride? I`m more stressed than Amy.
