NEW GROOM`S BIRTHDAY

My husband and best friends birthday is coming up and I want to throw him a birthday party. I`ve never done anything special. Every year I buy him an outfit,shoes, and we go to dinner. We just got married a month ago and he really wanted to go to the Ritz hotel but we couldn`t at the time. So I`ve booked it in advance. What are some great party ideas that won`t take all night so we can go to the Ritz? He`s not as loud and outgoing as I am so a big party with drinks and a DJ won`t impress him much.
