Renewing Our Vows ?!?!?!?

My fiance and I are going to the JP this July, and then planning a big ceremony for renewing our vows next July. But I don`t know the first thing about this! What is the proper etiquitte? And is there a minister? Can anyone give me some advice on this? Thanks!

I planned my 25 year renewal of vows. It is pretty much like planning your first wedding, only my dress was gold, I had my daughter as my maid of honor, my brother walked me down the aisle. I had both ministers at my church, but you really don`t have to have a minister. It was very special and beautiful, almost better than our first wedding, which I remember very little about. My reception was held at our clubhouse and my husband and I dressed up like Sonny and Cher and sang " I Got You Babe", kind of our theme song. It was one of the best times of our lives. After words, we traveled by car across the country to Pa. Stayed at Caesars at the Poconos. Rented a $400 a night exquisite room with a 7 foot champagne glass as a whirlpool, our own private heartshaped pool, which we skinny dipped in. Our first wedding we were so young and so poor, we went to Disneyland in Anaheim. I thnk the renewal ceremony
Was better than the first (even though it was beautiful
Also), and hopefully our 50th will be even better.

Good Luck!

Should gifts be given to the couple renewing their vows?

I heard that you can not wear a veil, that is about the only thing I know.

My husband and I are planning to renew our vows Jan of 2004. When we first got married we went to the courts (no family or friends where there). But we want family and friends there this time. So should I make it out do everything that a bride is suppose to do for her first wedding. Has anyone been in this poistion and what did you do. I want to make it my wedding but I am not going all out, we are on a budget too. How do I do the inviation as renewing our vows wording or getting married like the first time. On the party favors what date do I put on, the day we actually got married or the date we are celebrating our wedding. The date we are planning is actually a yr and day later than. I am kind of stuck. Any help would be greatfully. Thanks!
