I`m sure it`s every girls dream to get married at the courthouse without even a ring to seal the deal. Propose to her in some romantic place (with a ring) and have a wedding. Even if you don`t have a lot of money you can do this. Don`t rip her off of every girls dream just because you don`t have the money. You could always buy something less expensive with a promise to replace it with a nicer ring later when situations are better.

A lot late... But, just so people know.. Some girls don`t dream of a big wedding. I, personally, would prefer to have it at the Justice of Peace. Who needs to spend all that money just so people can be there to watch? It`s for you, not the family. Besides, people are poor now-a-days. If you both don`t mind, then JOP is fine. Either way, you will be married. And, I agree about the ring. You can buy something cheap and replace it later when you can afford it.

I would get a ring. I am engaged and we almost got married at a court house up to the day before the wedding and we changed our minds and rescheduled. I did not have a ring yet. That part isn`t such big a deal to me but we both felt we were cheapening the wedding by taking out essentials that being one of them. Whether she says so or not she values that.

I have heard of people getting married at the Justice of Peace and then having the ceremony after they save up a little bit of money. Regardless, I think that you should have a ring. It`s more than a ring to most people, it`s a symbol of commitment that the two of you share.
