Looking For A Song To Walk Down The Aisle To

I`m also looking for an appropriate song. I`m looking for something comtemporary, however my fiance would like to have something traditional. Any ideas?

I am using "Trumpet Voluntary" to walk down the isle with my father. In England it is used for when Royalty enter the ball rooms. If you know anyone that can download music, search for "Trumpet Voluntary" not sure who performs it.

Not sure if this is appropriate for you to walk down the isle, but I have always loved the words to Dan Hill`s-I never thought (perfect for a wedding)....hopefully this song will be modernized soon. As it is alittle outdated..

My Fiance and I found a beautiful song to walk down the aisle to. It`s called "Canon in D minor" it`s also played in D major but isn`t nearly as nice. It`s an orchestral peice by Pacheblo.

I had the same problem, so we both agreed on "Only Time" by Enya (just the instrumental). It is classical sounding, but is totally contemporary and beautiful.

I am having my girls walk down to Watermark by Enya and our Recessional will also be an Enya instrumental called Book of Days. I`m not a big Enya freak, but I thought the theme tied in well. :)

However i`m gonna walk down the aisle in (little less that 3 weeks *nervous jitters*) and i shall be walking to the sonf Truely Madly Deeply...it has a nice beat..and is very pretty too.

I was married in September 2000. I wanted something different and unique. While we were at a movie theater waiting for our movie to start, the song "Stand by Me" by Ben E. King came on. I about fell off of my chair. I loved the beat and the words. This is what I walked down to. I have yet to go to a wedding where the bride walks down to it. It was fun!

I posted before, but now that I have my music finalized, I can tell you what it is going to be and perhaps it will give you some ideas.

Before the wedding, a friend will sing "With You" from the musical Pipen.

The candle lighting/mother seating will be to Canon in D. Then my niece is singing "Only Hope" by Mandy Moore to start off the wedding.

My bridesmaids will walk down to "Watermark" by Enya. Then I will walk down the aisle to "Only Time" by Enya (piano only).

My FH and I, along with two other people, will be singing "The Lord`s Prayer" as a quartet right after the opening prayer.

Then, an entire men`s chorus will be scattered around the church, dressed inconspicuously, and during the Unity Candle Lighting, they will all stand up from where they are sitting and sing "Always" (there are about 50 of them)

Finally, our recessional is "Book of Days" by Enya (piano only).

Our dance at the reception will be sung live by a couple that are friends of ours. It will be "Come What May" from Moulin Rouge.


Now that`s some music!!

Well I love Brian McKnights "Love of my life" on his Superhero cd, but I think I may have that for first dance, but I looove this song on the "At first sight" soundtrack,called "Love is where you are" and if I don`t have that for my walk down the aisle it will also be a first dance, I don` t care, I`m gonna have two in a row :->
Ooh I am thinkin about it right now and really feelin "Love is where you are" it`s originally by Diana Krall on the soundtrack of the actual movie, but on the cd it`s by an exact soundalike lady named Gigi North I think.It still gets to you....ooh you gotta hear it. You can feeeeelllll it.When you`re washing the dishes or slow dancing in the dark to it. Makes me cry. I heard it at the end of the movie and played it over and over and had to find the cd.I think I got it off Columbiahouse.com,but I`m sure they have it at any record store.They have alot of other mellow stuff on there too.But that is my song!

I went to a wedding that had the instrumental version of Luther and Mariah`s endless Love version. As they were leaving, they played the version with the lyrics.

My finace and I are more metal fans. I could walk down the aisle, so to speak ( I am getting married on a balcony) to Prayer or Remember by Disturbed if I can get away with it. We will be introduced to Marilyn Manson`s Beautiful People, our first dance is Nothing Else Matters by Metallica, garter toss is Rob Zombie`s remake of Brickhouse(House of 1000 corpses soundtrack) We will be doing the TimeWarp from Rocky Horror Picture show. I think the rest is more traditional. We still have over 2 yrs to go so the rest can be decided later!
