Beach Wedding...bad Weather Alternatives???
I am getting married next June on the beach. The reception is going to be at a beach house where most of it will be held outside. There isn`t room inside the house to have everyone come in and have the ceremony and recpetion if it rains. Not to mention the DJ and my wedding arch going to waste! Can you give me any ideas on a backup plan just in case the weather is bad?? Thanks!!!

I`m also having a beach wedding (in the picnic area). We`re renting a tent with optional side panels. I`m still praying it doesn`t rain though!!:-)

I`ve never done (or even been to) an outside wedding, so unfortunately, I don`t have any suggestions for you. However, I`m replying to ask for your help. I, too, would like to have my wedding take place on the sand. How`d you do it? Any words of wisdom would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks,
Audrie

Hi! I am getting married this August on the beach in Southern California. I am anticipating nice weather since that time of year out here is usually nice. We are having the wedding early -- 11 am to beat the heat. We are going to have to probably rent chairs and a PA system for music and the service. We don`t have backup plans for the weather--so my fingers are crossed too. There is a lot to think of. Are you having it on a public strip of beach? How are you handling the parking situation?

TO jengirliegirl,
I actually have fixed this "what if it rains" problem. We are renting a house on the beach. Its pretty big, so if we HAVE to we can have it inside. I think it will work out. The park of the beach we`re having the wedding on is public, however, the neighborhood the house is in is gated, so there isn`t anyone on the beach besides the people renting the houses in the small subdivision. We`re having a DJ but I am not sure where they will play the music. There is a prvate walkway up to the house, so the reception will be at the beach and the house. We`re doing the food ourselves. It is really fun to plan, but like you said, there is a lot to think about with it being outside in a public place. Good luck planning! If you think of anything else you can email me at melaneeleigh@hotmail.com.

TO Audrie,
Where are you wanting to get married? I have just recently started planning and I didn`t know where to begin either! I just have asked around and actually a friend of mine had a beach wedding last year, so that is kind of helpful. There are a lot of wedding coordinators that do beach weddings. They can do everything for you if you want, but I decided it would be less expensive and more fun to do it myself. I actually have to get permission from the county board of directors to do it where I want to. You can start by looking at what the beach wedding coordinators do, a lot of them have websites. Then think about which things you want. You can have it at a public park or a condominium banquet room, or you do like I am and rent a house. After the wedding a bunch of us are going to stay at the house for a week. My wedding is going to be pretty small...around 50-75 people. You can email me if you want more suggestions at melaneeleigh@hotmail.com. Thanks and Good Luck!!!
