What Is Appropriate To Register For? Prices??
I was wondering what exactly is appropriate to register for? All my friends who have gotten married have registered for spatulas, vases, candle holders, linens, skewers, fancy pizza cutters, lamps, you name it... It was registered for. I feel terrible registering for expensive things and it doesnt match my taste, but my mother insists its appropriate to register for fancy china and crystal. I`d be happy just getting some cute plates from target and I can`t find "china" at low prices. What are appropriate items to register for, and price ranges?

I agree 100%. Register for what you want and NEED, not for things because people may buy them for you at a higher price. I can tell you I went to a wedding a couple of years ago and the couple registered for the most expensive (and might I add most of it was ugly) things in the stores. None of the most expensive stuff was purchased, but everything in a reasonable price range was when I looked at it. I spoke to the bride as the wedding was winding down, and do you know she had the nerve to say she checked out her registery from her laptop before the wedding and got none of the expensive stuff she wanted. Then she sighed and said "Oh well, I probably would have exchanged it for something else anyways". Register for useful stuff, not crap that will sit in a drawer or closet for years collecting dust. Also, if you entertain alot, china and crystal is a good thing to register for, but only if you are going to use it more than once a year. Otherwise China and crystal are somethings you can save up to purchase when you think you will use it. Hope this helps!

Thanks for replying, that makes me feel a lot better about the whole situation!! I`ll relax about it, and that was my thinking from the begining, If I`m not going to use china for 10 years, I definitley don`t want to cart it around from apartment to first home to second home while we`re settling our lives down the way we want them! You guys are great, this site is wonderful for advice! thanks!!!
