Ann,
Daniel and I got married only two years ago and our them was victorian. A fun victorian tradition we used was fortune charms. What they are are charms like a clover, rocking horse, ring, heart, and etc. They stand for luck, baby, marriage, love, and so on. You put the charm in the cake while the ribbon tied to the charm hangs out of the cake. Then your wedding party (maid of honor, best man, bridesmaids, and grooms) pulls on a ribbon to find their fortune. The simpler the decorations the easier and more victorian. Candles are a big part and inexpensive at Dollar Stores. Unity candle can be decoratied by attractivley glueing your invitation to it and tying ribbons that trail on to a table. A simple wine glass can be elegant with a little lace
Tied around it. Clear glass bowls with food dyed water and a bloom floating in it is romantic between two tapers.

Thanks Lilly. I have heard of the charms and will be purchasing them soon.. Would you suggest to use them during showers or the reception?.

I used them during my reception and everyone got a
Good laugh when the best who was already married got the wedding ring and they clapped when my sister
Got the rocking horse who wanted kids.
If your pressed for time another idea might be the
Reheasal dinner as a tension breaker.
Did I tell you about the Silver goblets Daniel and I got from
"A Time to Remember" store in the mall. They are heart shaped and intertwine to appear as one cup.
But separate to heart shaped wine goblets that we had our names engraved on them. We use them now to drink during special occasions. His says Daniel & Liliy and my says Liliy & Daniel.
