SPARKLERS?? Anyone Done This?

Has anyone done the sparklers instead of the rice, bubbles, etc...? If so how did it turn out? Where did you buy? Were they really hard to light? Any advice on this would be appreciated. I think it would be great to exit the church to burning sparklers. Thanks!

We used them when leaving our reception at dusk (an old historical home in SC).
1.) tried to order them online but you can only ship "fireworks/flammables" to certain states and we were in a state that they couldn`t ship to (DE)
2.) mom had to pick them up in SC at fireworks store
3.) don`t let children use them and make sure you get a good quality b/c they get SO hot and can burn - read warnings - many children go to emergency each year from sparklers
4.) make SURE you have several buckets of water around for them to quickly put them out or in case of emergency and for them to drop the spent ones in so they can cool down before throwing them away.
5.) they looked great in the photos but I was worried someone was going to catch my dress or hair on fire waving them around while trying to leave - but all turned out well!
6.) we also had matches printed with our names and wedding date b/c you gotta have something to light them with - ha ha
7.) when you decide you are leaving and they light up you only have a small window to get them lit and run out before they are all burnt out

Have a wonderful wedding. If you are careful and don`t have a bunch of drunk (stupid) people at your wedding it could be beautiful. Nicer than having something thrown at you. Just make sure you have enough room to get by safely.

Good Luck!

This is my personal opinion on sparkers and has nothing to do with the invitation company I work for.

Thank you for the info! We are getting married in late Sept. And are having a 7pm wedding so when we exit the church it should be dusk AND... BONUS... Everyone SHOULD still be sober! Thank you again.
