Unmatched Brides Maids
I have three brides maids and they all have different body styles, my sister is a size 18 and very busty, my friend Donna wears a size 30 and is long and round, my friend Karen is a size 32 and very wide around. To add to this mix, Karen is having gastric bypass surgery next month. She could lose up to 100 lbs before the wedding! (April).
I was reading an article about letting the brides maids select their own dresses so they can choose something that fits their body type as well as their personalities. Has anyone done this? It sounds like it might be the perfect solution for me but I need to figure out how to make the ladies look coordinated even if they aren`t wearing matching dresses.
Any suggestions?
If anyone has pics of brides maids in unmatched outfits, please email me, I`d love to see them.
Btw - my colors are rose pink and wine red with black and silver accent colors, our theme is "Roses and Records" we ae doing a 1958 theme wedding.
Any thoughts on unmatched brides maids dresses - even if you are against it, please express your thoughts. Thanks!

I am also doing unmatched bridesmaids outfits. I am opting to have them made for comformity. The styles will be different, but the colour and fabric will be the same. I think this will be the best way to have my bridesmaids looking beautiful and comfortable yet still have them look like they are in the wedding party.

Yes Neona, mixing will be ok as far as styles, just as long as you keep within the same colors. I did a wedding where the MOH was different than the BM`s.,but it allworked b/c they were all in the same color scheme. The only part of the style that will matter is if one is in a long dress they should all wear long, or short, whatever your preference. You want your girls to feel not only comfortable in what they are wearing but confident about themselves. Hope that helps.

I had a red and white wedding and I had my regular bridesmaids in red and white and my two bridal attendants, who walked down the isle with the ushers in white. They went first holding red roses and the girls in red came out holding white flowers and the flower girl was in red and white. If you want a photo let me know. I don`t think I can upload it to this.
I loved the way it looked. In hindsight I think I would have made the bridal attendants dresses pink but I had already picked red and white. LOL. But I loved it.
