What Should I Do?
Gals...please give me your advice. My wedding is less than a month away and one of bridesmaids called today and told me she can`t be in the wedding because her fiance`s son is graduating on the same day. I am so down and upset. We had to special order her dress beause she is a VERY large woman & then it didn`t fit so, the seemstress spent 15 hrs reconstrucing it to fit her, and then I had to look all over to find a strapless bra that was big enough to fit her. And all the rest of the gals wanted a big heeled shoe, but since she is so heavy we got shoes with no heel so it was easier for her to walk in them. I feel like so many aspects of this wedding have been planned around her...now for her to bail on us. She said I have no reason to be angry...but I think I do! What shold I do? What should I say to her?

You have very right to be upset. In my opinion, you went above and beyond what a bride should do to help out a bridesmaid. (They`re supposed to be helping you!!) You need to tell her that she needs to pay for her dress, alterations, heels and bra. Then, explain to her how much your feelings were hurt by what she did and make it be known that if that is going to be the way she treats you, then not expect any sort of graciousness from you in the future. After that, blow it off and concentrate on you wonderful day!! :)

Thank you for responding Pamela! I appreciate it. Ya, this woman is over 300 lbs & has it in her mind that she can`t do anything...so, she hadn`t given me really any help to speak of in the first place. But ya, I spent hrs. Looking for a place that would make a dress even big enough to fit her (she had to get a size 34)...and then I spent hrs. Looking for shoes that she could wear & a bra & everything...so I have really put a lot of time into this for her. She said..."well I hope this doesn`t wreck our friendship...something as trivial as this shouldn`t" GRRRR~~ I was like TRVIAL?! In what way is my wedding trivial? Ugh... Anyways, thanks for your reply..I will take your advice!
