Married Outdoors In Nova Scotia
Hi all,
I need some help with this one. My fiancee and myself set our wedding date for May 24th 2003. Neither of us are Christian and we would like to get married outside. Does anyone know if you can get married at Shubie Park or Point Plesant Park in Halifax? And if you can who to contact or talk to? I have no idea where to start with this stuff. Thanks

Have you tried calling Access Nova Scotia? They should be able to direct you to the proper people. One thing to considere would be the weather that time of year, and if you can have a tent at the location. Another place that would be really beautiful would be the dingle. That is where we are having our pictures done. There is a really nice hill there overlooking the arm.

I heard that you might have luck if you try contacting the Atlantic School of Theology. They would know people who would be available to marry you outside. There`s also the possible route of calling the NS Barristers Society and getting the name of judges that might marry you.

HI, We are getting married at the Dingle. We live in Ontario, but we used to live in Halifax, and we are going back there for the wedding. We are not religious people, so we chose a judge for our weddding. We chose not to rent a tent because we figured it was a waste of money since the wedding would be probablly an hour-an hour and a half. For the chairs, we are having a reception at a legion, so we thought we would save some money and borrow the chairs from the legion. My main worry is that I forgot what the area by the Gazebo at the Dingle looks like, so I have been searching the internet for pics of it. That`s how I came across this post. It only cost us $80 to book the Dingle for the day, and we did everything by mail. We chose a judge to marry us, and he sent us some wedding ceremonies to choose from. If you would like to share more ideas, or if you decide to have the wedding at the Dingle, then I would love to talk with you about it. Our wedding date is July 26, 2003. Good Luck on your big day. Sandra
