Davids B Ridal

When my daughter and i decided to go to Davids, I dreaded it from the very start. Much to my surprise we got an excellent consultant. From the very beginning Cathy (consultant )knew what our budget was just by paying attention to the dresses my daughter picked out. We were doing fine when this assistant store manager jumped in our businesss and told my daughter she had the dress for her. Trisha ,ASM, never once came and asked me anything about our budget or even talked to Cathy. She just put her made up face where it did not belong. The dress Trisha came up with was a Cassini dress and everybody knows how expensive they are. Of course the BTB loved it and it looked like it was made for just her but I peeked at the price tag and it was a whopping 900 dollars. Of couse the BTB cried for 2 weeks about that dress but it gets better. We went everywhere trying to find a dress that could measure up to that Cassini dress. NO LUCK!!! So we went back to Davida Bridal.. Walked in the door and BTB said ,, mom I feel like everybody is talking about us. I told her they shouldnt be cause I never complained about Trisha.. Just wanted to let it be. Cathy (consultant fom first visit) came to me and said they were all surprised that we came back after the stunt Trisha pulled on me. The store manager came out and also helped us In fact Trisha was told by Cathy and Debra (SM) not to come near me.Cathy told me the store had a meeting the first visit we had there cause of what Trisha had done. BTB still cant find anything to make her happy(DRESS WISE) SM comes up to me and tells me that after what the store had put us through she would take 300 dollars off the Cassini dress and let us get a 250 dollar veil for 106 dollars...gave BTB a pearl bracelet and disposable camera so she could see for herself how GREAT she looked. Soo i guess what I am trying to say not all Davids Bridal Stores stink...just most of them. I also want to thank Cathy and Debra at the Winston Salem store in NC for everything they did for us as we were on a tight budget also.

My future sister n law and I had a similar experience at the David`s Bridal in Portland Maine. She comes froma single parent family and the couple is paying most of the wedding expenses themselves. Her ring however is a family heirloom, 2 carats and amazing. The store manager after specifically asking to see her ring was pushy nad uncooperative when we asked to look at lower priced gowns. The associate helping us in the beginning was kind and helpful. The future bride was over whelmed and we cut our shopping short. Once she had a chance to clear her head, we returned to the store for a second lok. They were very rude and because we didn`t have an appointment wouldn`t let us past the reception desk. They talked about us out loud referring to us as "the walk-in" like we were street trash. We left the store even more disgusted than the first time. She recieved a promotional call shortly afterward and the caller was uninterested in her complaint. She ended up buying a beautiful gown at a private boutique. My sister is planning her wedding and we will not even consider David`s Bridal.

Be happy that you didn`t make it past the front desk. As an employee at David`s, as soon as you fill out that registration form, you`re not looked at as a bride, you`re looked at as a dollar sign. And if you don`t buy your dress with us then we will keep calling and calling and calling you to see why you didn`t purchase. And if you just purchase your wedding gown we will keep calling and calling and calling to see why you didn`t buy your bridesmaids dresses, and flower girl dress and mother of the bride dress or shoes or tiara or veil or undergarments. The consultatnt work on commission and they have to hit $10,000 every two weeks to make commission. And if the store hits their sales plan consecutively then the managers get a $500 bonus on their checks (every two weeks on top of their $1500). Be happy you had great customer service elsewhere cause we would`ve just hounded you till the wedding date. And even after the wedding we would`ve kept calling to ask why you didn`t buy a preservation kit. It`s hard to get rid of us!

Mt experience at David`s Bridals was horrible, as soon as we my walked in we were hussled. I felt as if I were buying a car, instead of a bride gown. To top it off we were told that we needed to pay in full, when some of the bridesmaids who were young could only put half down the sales person went on rampage about the store policy and then said we were better off buying the dress at another store in the nad side of town where they do layaway. At that point I was just going to charge everything but hestitated because they truly didn`t deserve my business.
