Fun At Weddings

I am helping plan my daughter`s wedding. I want it to be romantic and elegant, but I also want it to be fun. I would like to hear your opinions -- what do you think makes a wedding fun? What was the best wedding you`ve been to, and what was so special about it? What did you do or will you do to make your wedding different?

I know what you are going through. My future hubby and I wanted a `different` kind of wedding too.Well since we both wanted to have a more permanant type of symbol to show the world that we are married,we decided to get tattoos around our left wrists. We also got puzzle rings as wedding bands.Well, the wedding is 3 days away and is being held in a tattoo shop.We will exchange our self written vows while getting our tattoos. If this isn`t different and fun I don`t know what is. : )

My cousin had their wedding and we laughed a lot from what the groom did to the bride. He tickled her feet when he removed the garter, he danced with all of the bridesmaids after dancing with the bride, and he danced with them all at one time and the bride danced with the groomsmen at one time. They made the wedding fun. Are there really ideas to make a wedding fun or is it spontaneously?

Hi Terri, I am planning my wedding for October, and I want it to be romantic and elegant, yet fun as well! We have A LOT of people coming down to GA from all over the country! I don`t know where your daughter`s wedding will be, but sunset is a great time to get married, or as it is getting dark so you can use lots of white lights and candles to decorate... Very elegant! Good music and food is always a must as well! My mom always said if people are eating and drinking, they will dance, socialize and have a wonderful time!! The best wedding I went to was inexpensively decorated, but it had a great DJ who was funny and made the couple feel special and there was a lot of good munchies to snack on. Nothing too formal and stuffy.. And everyone was dancing, laughing and having fun! Good luck to your daughter! :)

The best thing you can do is to get a good DJ that will get the crowd involved!!!! and a good DJ will get themselves out on the dance floor too!!! you can also incorporate some different games too.....kinda like bridal shower games. Have the bride and groom sit on chairs back to back......each of them should have on one of the others shoes (so neither of them match....they will have one of each on their feet). Prepare a bunch of questions for the DJ to ask them like...who said I love you first?....and for them to answer they must hold up the shoe of the person who did. You can come up with some crazy questions too!! my favorite (that usually gets the crowd laughing and telling stories) is to ask who has the worst habits? and have a small gift like a bottle of champagne for them. I have also seen this done where they take both mothers of the couple and do the same and see how well they know the bride and groom (for this the bride and groom have to give up their shoes to share among the moms...just for a little while)
