Wedding Doves

My fiancé and I are planning on releasing two white doves after our wedding ceremony. Does anyone know of any company that releases doves in the Hartford, CT area?

I wrote wedding doves in search and came up with a lot of different ones, plus I found a site that releases butterflys, just type that in butterflys for weddings.

Hi, I really dont want to ruin your idea... But did you know that when you release doves that they die? Doves can not find their way home like pigions do... And they starve to death because they do not know how to find food like wild bird do... Sorry, just something for you to think about.

I understand the difference between pigeons and doves and I will be releasing a special kind of pigeon that looks just like a dove and that does find it`s way home to get fed. I just didn`t want to explain all the details and figured that calling them doves in my explanation would make it easier for everyone to understand. I appreciate your concern but be assured that I considered the bird`s safety.

Hi, I wanted white doves for my wedding also, instead I chose butterflys because of the beautiful Indian Ledgon that goes with it. I ordered a dozen from Whispering Wings on line. They get shipped UPS the day before and you just have to keep them in a cold place. I was afraid they would die but I have to tell you everyone of them took off and a few even stayed around. Some even landed on the guest which was great for pictures. Everyone started crying. They couldn`t believe how beautiful it was seeing all those butterflies take off. You should look into butterfly releases. I also printed out the Indian poem on colored paper, rolled them up, placing a fake gold ring around the paper and passed them out to the guest as a keep sake. If you would like to see pictures let me know.
