The "Perfect Dress"???
I just went to David`s Bridal for the first time last week. I had heard horror stories about the bridal shop but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Let me tell you my story....
I had made an appointment for 6 p.m. That night. I was the only appointment made for the evening but no one was able to help me until after 6:30. I understand it gets busy...but it was a Thursday night and I was the ONLY appointment. Being that it was my first time at the shop, I didn`t mind the wait...it was nice to look around.
I was told to "feel free" to look at the dresses on the racks. It was very hard for me to look at the dresses on the racks when they are squeezed inside what I call a "body bag" with not even a picture as to how the dress looks like. I had to unzip a few just to get an idea of what color it was. I appreciate the fact that they have every size....but do not like looking through "body bags" in search of my wedding dress.
I had found 3 dresses that I wouldn`t mind trying on. When I tried on the first dress, it was very pretty. I did like it. The sales lady "Tara" said, "Oh, that is the dress. I just know it`s the dress." I said it`s very nice and that I wanted her to write it down for me. Her response to me was, "I`m not going to write it down....this is the dress."
I said to Tara, "I want to try on other dresses yet." She said, "Nope. This is the dress. There is no need to try on any of these other dresses when this is the dress. You don`t want this dress (she points to one of the other dresses on the rack that I was going to try on) because it will just add weight on your butt and you don`t need that so you`re not trying this one. And this isn`t nearly as pretty as the one you have on." This lady would not let me try on another dress. TALK ABOUT PUSHY!!!
I really thought about buying that dress...however, after how pushy that sales lady was....and how she was trying to tell me what "the perfect dress" was....I really wanted her to stick it. Besides, this is my wedding. Don`t you think that is something I should decide????
This experience came from the Appleton, Wisconsin store by the Fox River Mall.
