Luther Vandross For Father Daughter Song?

Personally, although i love the song Dance with my Father, I would not use it unless my dad was deceased. The song is about a man whose dad has died. It is a beautiful song though. As for My girl. That`s a nice song too, but I agree with you that it may be too fast. I think it should be a slower song as well, but I have seen faster one`s played at weddings before, and they can go well too. Ultimately, however, it is your decision, not your moms or anyone elses.

I would say that song is too maudlin. There are two great new father daughter songs on weddingusoccentral.com. One is called "My Little Girl" from the dads point of view. The other is called "You`re My Hero" from the daughters point of view.

I like a song by Kippi Brannon called Daddy`s little girl. There is a short and a long version, they`re both really nice. There is also a version where it is combined with Butterfly kisses. The other version is better though.

I personally woul use it cause you never know when your dad could live your side and you are going to miss everymoment you spent with him. I personally the day I get married I am going to use this song as my first dance with the man I first love and met the one who take care of me and protected me and gave everything for. I would dedicate this song to him and then I`ll dance with my new man in my life my husband. But first I would be tahnk to my father cause I would be where am with both my love my mom and dad.

I was got married June 3rd, 2006 and Luther Vandros Dance with My Father Again was used for my Father dance. It was great because with this song you can dance at a slow pace or you can speed up your step. I think with this song it`s up to you how fast or slow you make the dance. It was perfect for us.

My girlfriend used that song (Dance with my Father) with a slide presentation of her deceased father at her reception. It took the place of her father/daughter dance. She showed pictures of happy times with her father and so many people who remembered him smiled with the memories so it was nice and didn`t turn the celebration into a sad moment. It was really nice how she did it and the presentation was really nice. I would use a song that is for you and your father and not one that is for when a father is deceased. There are so many songs that you can use and it will be special for your day.
