Unity Candle Song
I need some help with picking a song for the lighting of the unity candle. I think I have some ideas, but I don`t know. I don`t want the song to be too long because I don`t just want to stand there and have it be weird. I was at a wedding when they played a long song and were just standing there afterward ( but I guess it could have seemed weird b/c they weren`t looking at eachother!! -- very weird couple and wedding!) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

We are using
"The Prayer" by Josh Grobin and Charlotte Church.
It is a longer song..and we are having two of our close friends sing it. To make it not seem as long, we are having both of our parents come to the front of the church (during the song) to light the tapers, and remain there until we light the unity candle.
So it will be something more to watch, then just us standing there!

"I will be here" by Steven Curtis Chapman. I used this song at my wedding and had more than a dozen people ask me who sang it and where they could find it. It is an awesome song about being there for your love no matter what happens......my favorite line in it is "if in the dark we lose sight of love, hold my hand and have no fear. Cause i will be here." it never says anything about giving up. You have to listen to the whole song. Love it!

We are having a soloist - singing "from this moment"
At least even if it is long.. Some attention will be on her!
It should turn out nicely!

Yes, I have written a song "The Flame Is Joined" that specifically was designed for the candle lighting and it is only 1 minute 30 seconds long. Here is the web address to hear a clip and order. Http://www.wedalert.com/navis/index.asp
