Go to the book section at amazon.com and search for weddings and you will get a list of books that tell you everything you need to know about planning a wedding. I would do that BEFORE you buy anything from anyone. You reall should do some research before you spend a penny or make any firm plans.
My mother gave me a book when I got engaged, I think it `s called "The Knot`s Ultimate Wedding Planner". It has everything you could ever want to know about a wedding. Good Luck

Ignore the idiot comment. They say it takes an idiot to know one. Also do not believe everything you read in the books. If you have a budget for a coordinator, I suggest getting one. If not a good DJ service will provide all the answers or any good vendor. Don`t be afraid to ask them.

It really isn`t hard. The internet has made it much easier these days. Just put in a search engine "Planning a wedding" you will be surprised at all the sites, from time lines, to purchasing your license etc. Come up. Also you can buy a bridal magazine they have all kinds of web sites, ideas etc. Meet with a bunch of friends and volley ideas back and forth. Have fun, once you start you`ll see how it all comes together! Good Luck!

Take a deep breath and break it down into steps. I really liked the "Working Women`s Wedding Planner." You can just follow the check lists in order.

Emily Post`s book is good, too, for making sure you don`t break any rules. :-)

If you`re clueless, crunched for time, and not creative then you should really think about hiring a wedding planner.
A wedding planner will take alot of stress away from you.
If you`re worried about the cost, most wedding planners can actually help you save money because they know where the best deals are and can negotiate with their preferred vendors to get you the best deal.
