STAY AWAY FROM DAVID`S

I am WARNING you now ladies David`s Bridal is for the birds! To first start this wonderful experience off my maid of honor and I went in to a local David`s store here in FL to browse around. My wedding was last July and I thought how romantic and beautiful everything was going to be. We had a great location, wonderful band, beautiful flower arrangments that all proved themselves twice over for their inexpensive prices. However David`s did not. The sales woman a pushy high strung woman who looked like she never seen an iron before talked me into this "one of a kind" styled dress. The dress in all honesty was breathe taking. However I wanted it in a champagne color to match my color scheme. The sales woman assured me that she could call around and see what she could do. A half hour later she tells me that the dress does come in that color but will have to be shipped from another David`s in GA. I would be responcible for shipping fees ontop of the dress price. I agreed. Then a few months after that I choose my brides maid dresses since the store seemed to be so helpful I wanted to repay them by having all my girls buy their dresses from there. I chose this beautiful cream color that offset the color of my dress. The sales girl appologized and told them that she would have to order the dresses in from another store because she only had 2 in that color and I had 8 brides maids. We agreed.
Here is where it gets good. One month before my wedding date the dresses arrive. I go to pick up my dress..unzip the cover to ensure everything was perfect. That is when I hit the floor in tears the dress was BONE white!!!! Not that that seems like a big deal but when you have colors and schemes worked out and you ordered the dress and paid for shipping to have the same darn color shipped to you. I go an "Oops she must have checked off the wrong color!" I stuck took the dress after I was cheered up.Not to mention to reorder would have taken another 4 weeks that I didn`t have. But that didn`t end there. When my brides maids went to pick up their wedding dresses the sales girl had ordered the dress in 4 different colors red, blue, beige, and green. I was horrified by this point. I walked in with all of the dresses in my arms. Suddenly they became so cheerful and helpful "Can I help you?"They smiles and asked. I said yes! Can I ask you a question? "Do I look like Rainbow Bright?" Then why would I have ordered these dresses in 4 different colors? Fortunatly I got a HUGE!! Refund and selected some choice bride maid dresses in store at a HUGE discount. But that didn`t make up for my devistation or my inconvience. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR...FORK OVER THE EXTRA CASH! It`s true you do get what you pay for!

"Brains", That is an extremely rude responce. Sheesh. What a lack of grace. Maybe she wanted to post about her experiences in order to get the word out.

And why the heck would everyone know that about David`s? If they did, the company wouldn`t still be in business!

Nina, sorry to hear about the catastrophe. Ugh.

Oh, another thing, I priced something at David`s, and I actually ended up paying much less somewhere else, for a much better dress.

David`s is notorious for misordering and for EXPENSIVE alterations!

Brains has none at all. No cooth, brains, heart and no spine or he/she would put their real names. (S)he is a coward. I have never shopped at David`s Bridal before but because of all of the negative postings here, I didn`t choose them, I flew to New York to find a custom gown and I am satisfied with that. I pray that no one has to deal with that unprofessional place of business and I pray that no one has to deal with Brains either.

Brains? That`s a great name for someone with an I.Q. Of a tick. Well, if you are comparring David`s to Kmart you must have a base for your comparison. And in that I am truly sorry you "blue light special" reject. I guess it is easy to point the finger and laugh at someone who can afford a wedding gown (even if it is from David`s Bridal) rather then sewing their mothers tampax together, laced with Martha Stewart curtains.
The next time you try to comment on someones misfourtune, please refrain and remember your own you pitty of of a soul. Not everyone is as lucky as I am to have been able to purchase a Vera for her wedding, but, I would never be so rude as to mock someone of one of the most imporant days of their life. You are the reason this world is lacking in human compassion. I feel sorry for you.

I`m so sorry you had this experience! I would have been horrified too! I don`t think all David`s Bridal stores are for the birds though. I got my wedding dress at one in Erie, PA and had a wonderful experience. The consultant I had when I was trying dresses wasn`t pushy at all, she was just as excited as I was. And every one I have dealt with there has been knowledgeable and helpful. I think it depends a lot on the individual store.

My wedding is on August 12,2006 and I am getting my dress from David`s Bridal the problem I have is that they sell the same try on dresses. And I have to agree that they suck I paid 400.00 for my dress. Its a size 12 with no needed alterations. So I go to pay for it and after the payment she charges me 10.00 more dollars and put the dirty try-on dress in the bag and tell me to bring it back on june 29 to get it cleaned and pressed I lost it i asked to speak to a manager and demanded them to order me a new dress. They agreed and I tore the tag out of the dress so I will know if they just cleaned the try-on dress the sales rep was surprised she said she didn`t think i would notice the sell try-ons So I have to AGREE STAY AWAY FROM DAVID`S BRIDAL ESPECIALLY THE ONE IN PEMBROKE LAKE FLORIDA

Well I got married on May 27th of this year and I bought my dress from Davids Bridal. I went in a couple of months before paid on it andbecause alot of the beads were loose and they stated they would fix them. When I went back four weeks before my wedding the beads were still loose and hanging off the alterations are extremely high so I had already book some one else for that. I went in to pick up my dress and it was worse than before when I asked them about it they told me to leave it there and pick it up in a week. They were very rude when I stated I needed this fixed right away anyaway when they finaaly fix it . It was a mess beads were still falling and strings were now hanging from every place. So I know the results of Davids Bridal

I agree, David`s Bridal is for the birds!!! The prices are resonable, but the service is non-existant. I have gone to the one in Canton, OH a few times now to have my girls try on dresses and for me to try on gowns. The girl who was helping me was so busy helping everyone else in the store that day that one of my bride`s maids had to help me try everything on. And to top things off, I had chosen 2 dresses for my Junior Bride`s Maids that were on the *sale* rack. The girl told me that she couldn`t hold them, but she would put them in the back since my sister was bring my niece in a few hours from the time we were there. Needless to say, she DIDN`T put them in the back and a set of twins came in and purchased them. They were only $30.00 and I was livid. We had to special order them because they`re discontinued now and so help me God if they come back in the wrong color or size I will be extremely angry. I have chosen not to get the girl`s dresses there. We actually ordered from www.houseofbrides.com. I recommend this site for anyone who`s looking for dresses....wedding gowns included. I, fortunately, purchased a dress from my neighbor`s daughter for only $175 that she paid $900 for last year!!!! So, I hope the rest of you will have as much luck as I have. =o)
