WARNING - Trisha`s Formals/Bridal

Just wanted to stop any of you before making the same mistake I did. I chose a vendor from this site who I thought was very nice and helpful to make an Amsale replica for me....I`ve even taken up for her when there were other bad posts. I don`t know why I didn`t see those as red flags.

In any case, beware of Trisha`s Formals. It is not a trustworty business. I contracted for a gown to be made of silk ziboline. I got quotes from other vendors on this site, but Trisha`s was the only one who said they could actually use silk zibilone. I commend the others for being honest.

I received my gown last week and guess what, it was not in silk ziboline. Not even in silk micado which is similar. Instead it was in silk satin. For those of you who are wondering if there is a difference, yes there is a great difference. Silk ziboline is matte and textured whereas silk satin is smooth and shiny. It makes it a whole different dress.

So I confronted Patty, and you let me show you her reply:
"The name Amsale gives to the silk is a designer trade. You can look up and you will not find this name listed in fabric guides. Mfgs. Go by percentages mainly on silks. This is made of a top grade silk..." She goes on to say that she will not give me a refund because my gown looks almost identical to the original. I think not, the fabric difference is astonishing.

So, I wonder. Why did she promise me that she could do the gown in silk ziboline and even contract to do so? Why didn`t she provide me with the statement above before I contracted with her? I even added into our contract that she would go see the original gown before making it to be sure we got all of the specifications correct. It doesn`t appear now that she did that, nor did she even know what silk ziboline look like.

I think this is a business who will do anything to get your money, even lie about their ability to give you what you contract for.

So ladies, don`t do what I did. I got a negative recommendation from someone about the business but I tried to think the best of Trisha`s and even thought maybe the bride was over reacting. Girls, when it`s your turn and you`ve found your dream dress it`s very disappointing to receive soemthing that is completely wrong and then get refused a refund. Even worse is to have someone you thought was trustworthy lie to you.

It really sound to me like you brides are 100% bonafide SNOTS! And a few other things too, but I think I made my point.

It sounds to me that someone wanted a dress they could not afford, and contracted someone via the INTERNET to make a copy.

Betsy, are you a freaking idot or something. The internet is a wonderful tool, but YOU DON`T contract someone to do a CUSTOM MADE gown over it.

Why didn`t you just buy the freaking Amsale? Oh that`s right, you have champagne tastes on a (cheap) beer budget. NEWS FLASH, if you can`t afford it...you don`t buy it!

Your credit card companies will refund you. Don`t worry about that, but I`m sure some of you will take the woman to court, you do after all need to try to bankroll your reception yet.

For the record, I have no idea who Trisha is, I live in Manhatten. But I have been in bridal a long time, and I really feel sorry for the poor sap who is marrying you.

He is going to stick a ring on your finger and you will stick a noose around his neck.

Courtney,
I suppose you are entitled your own opinion. Your strong verbage tells me that you are either 1)a very angry person or 2) trying to get a rise on the board. Ordering a custom dress through the Internet is certainly not a reason to call me a snot, an idiot, or claim that I`ll be sticking a noose around my fiance`s neck. Those are very hurtful statements to be throwing at someone you`ve never met. You must be doing Internet business yourself to be on this board.

I and many girls on this board contracted for something that was not received. Maybe we were a little naïve to do business with a woman we never met face to face, but you can believe we all feel that without all of your name throwing. Go see a psychologist, you could use some anger management.

Betsey,

It is unfortunate that you had such a terrible experience. I hope that things get better for you, and thank you for the heads up. It is appreciated. Have a great day. =)

While Courtney`s statements were harsh, she had a good point. It`s a shame this happened. To all future brides, don`t risk the most important dress you will ever wear to save a few dollars. Go to a full service salon in your area!

Trisha`s Formals took the money and ran with many women`s dresses including my own. I was able to get the $ back, but only after contacting the local police dept where her store was located.

I am so glad I checked this site out before hand. I was just about to place my order with Patty. Well, she`s pretty much out of the picture, can anyone recommend a place that makes dresses? Someone similar to what patty was doing? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you ahead of time.

Courtney and Rene,
I guess it makes you feel good to trash a bride who got screwed on her wedding dress by a trashy vendor. Do you feel better? Do you feel all big and strong and better than everyone else? Congrats, your both b*tches!

Betsy is trying to do other brides a favor by warning them about a trashy vendor who screwed her, myself and countless other brides.

I think Patty honestly went psychotic. And I got my money back from my bank, and then my bank took it back because Patty disputed my dispute! Patty who hasn`t gotten in touch with me since December 2004 disputed my charge back on my card!!!

Patty is a horrible person, and anyone who sides with her or against Betsy is a trashy egotistical person as well.

Stefani,

Are you for real? Okay, so Courtney was a little psycho, but all the other girl said was go to a full service salon.

Not to be the bearer of bad news ladies, but I know plenty of people who went to a full-service salon, and received just as awful treatment. You can meet a person face-to-face and they can still screw you. It happens. There is no sense in arguing with complete strangers over a very unfortunate incident.
