Day Of The Week

Do any of you know if it matters what day of the week you have your wedding on? My boyfriend and I really want to keep our current anniversary for our wedding anniversary. The only problem is if we get married the year we want to, it will fall on a Sunday. I know most weddings take place on Saturday, and I wasn`t sure if it mattered since guests would have to take Monday off of work or school to travel back to their hometowns. Would this be rude for our guests? I realize it is our wedding and we should do what we want, but I just don`t want to do anything that would be rude to the guests. Thanks in advance.

Actually, a lot of couples DO get married on Sunday. I think it would be perfectly fine for you to have your wedding on a Sunday. Just give your out-of-town guests plenty of advance notice so they can plan accordingly. (You could send out Save the Date cards or just let them know by word-of-mouth).

Hope that helps!

I got married on Sunday. There were religious reasons for it, but you get great rates if you do it on Sunday. Our reception location had a minimum rate of 7000 if we did it on Saturday, and no minimum on Sunday. We spent less than 4000, so it was great. We did get married right before Christmas, so a lot of people were already going to be in town for the holidays or had the week off. We gave 14 months notice of the date. But keep in mind, the people who REALLY want to be there will make it happen, no matter where or when it is.

Good luck!
