Small & Elegant Vs Big And Ordinary

My fiance and I have scrapped our original plan and decided to go with a smaller wedding, but it will be very elegant. We are only inviting 60 people, but we are having a complete open bar etc. A real "rich and famous" type of wedding. We can do that for 60, we could never do that for the original 140. His mother is having a a fit! She wants a traditional wedding like all the wedding we`ve ever attended. She`s so afraid of doing anything different or suprising! And it`s not because she`s old, she`s not even 50 yet! She comes up with "you should" rules that even my mother snickers at. I want a good relationship with her, so, I just keep saying that I want my dream wedding to be unique (like me) and truly an event worth remembering. She`s not overjoyed that we pushed it back a year and are living together either! (lol)
