Ring Bearer Ideas Not The Cheezy Pillows

We are having a ring bearer in our wedding. I don`t want him to carry a silly little pillow. Does anyone have any other ideas for this. AND how does a ring bearer actually work. Does he walk up the aisle and give the rings to the best man? How is it done?

Depending on the age of the ring bearer, sometimes he carries fake rings down the aisle. Some couples don`t want to rely on a three year old to carry their precious wedding rings. It`s really up to you whether or not the ring bearer actually brings the rings or not. It`s customary for the best man to hold onto the bride`s ring and the maid of honor to have the groom`s ring.

That being said, you can be really creative with the ring bearer. He can carry just about anything down the aisle. It`s up to you.

One idea is a treasure chest shaped ring box. I have one available for 20% off in my eBay store if you want to see a picture. Copy & paste this into your browser:

Laura, heres an idea. I did this for a wedding, the RB was a little older, I thought a little too old for one of those cheesy pillows. So I bought a paper mache round box covered it in a deep velveteen blue, trimmed it in white eye lash fringe with a tassle on the front. The inside I took a piece of dense foam, cut to fit the box, and almost as thick, cut two slits in it where I would want the rings to be,used a piece of pretty white polysatin, make sure you leave the piece big enogh to push the satin into the slits(make sur you cut them deep enough) then tuck the remainder down around the inside of the box.If theres to much, trim some before tucking. Also, before you do all that take two long white ribbons, glue to the inside bottom, let the ribbons hang out , also with measuring put some ribbon in the bottom to bring up to the lid,so that when the box is opened you won`t have to worry about it falling , it will just hinge on the box. Then put the foam in the bottom and proceed with the satin directions. It really did look very nice, and it`s not as complicated as it sounds, and really didn`t take that long. And the 8 or 10 year old felt better about carrying a box. Oh I forgot to tell you, the long white ribbons are to run thru the rings, just cicle around and thats it, a little added security. The boy did carry the actual rings and once up to the alter the groomsmen was able to slide it right off .The reason i used the eyelash fringe was because it was a winter theme wedding and it gave the appearance of wispy snow. I didn`t want you to think it was sissy for a boy, because it wasn`t that much ,just the edge of the top. But any will work.Hope this helped you any questions ,let me know. Goodluck

Do you have a theme for the wedding? I love the idea of the post before this one, great idea and very creative. But if you have a theme you can incorpoarate something that way. Like if it was a cinderella theme you could have him carry a mini glass slipper with the rings inside.
