Depo Shot/Rythm Method
I am wondering how long it typically takes for one to have their period after they have stopped the Depo Shot. I got a shot on 9/21/04 had nonstop periods up until I was due for my next shot on 12/21/04. I did not take my shot since I was planning tubal ligation surgury over the Christmas holiday which did not take place due to some life changes. But I have been extremely careful and I am hoping to get normal again so to speak, by getting my monthly period, so I can start the rythm method. I do not want to take any more birth controls that cause all these side affects...!! Plus we are still uncertain whether or not we would like to have another child which would be child#3. Can anyone tell me again how long before I get normal--statistic wise/typically..??? And what advise can you give me on the rythm method?

Statistically, the rythm method is only 18% effective. That means that if it is the only form of "control" you are using, that 82/100 women will become pregnant every year. I would suggest that if you are not sure or don`t want any more children, that you practice a more reliant form of birth control.
