Hi I went to a wedding that was outside and they got the guests to blow bubbles instead of throwing rice or confetti. It was beautiful and the kids loved it.

Trellis works great for outdoor wedding. Also, look for old iron garden gates at thrift shops that can be deocrated. Let me know your plans...good luck....Carolyn

Hey they have some of those paper lanterns or mobiles and stuff you could hang from the trees, and lots of decorations,There is this cool site for cheap stuff, it`s called the Oriental Trading Co.....www.oriental.com..........where you look under themes, then under Luaus or whatever theme and then on there you can look at that stuff but look at the links on the right side for party decorations and stuff, and there is all kind of island stuff or whatever you want.I`m GodsQQQ@aol.com

Thanks for the idea about checking Oriental Trading. Perhaps they will have some items that would work. Thanks. Carolyn

We had an outdoor wedding with the stream and waterfall and pond. A couple of idea that we used was to take brown paper lunch bags that are plain, and cut shapes of the moon and stars on them, we then placed a tealight in them and placed them all over the yard, it looked great. We also used the large tiki torches all over. Around the waterfall we used mason jars and used sand at the bottom, then put votive candles in them, different sized jars.. It was awesome.

Ahhh...I like the idea of using the brown paper bags. She is incorporating hearts & stars so we could cut those shapes in the bags...thanks....Carolyn

Bird houses with the newlyweds names painted on them make great centerpieces. Also, terracotta flower pots filled with sand that hold a pillar candle are great.

My daughter is planning an outside wedding at the church. There is a knoll beside the church with a clearing with trees all around.....The wedding will be in the late afternoon and I`d like to use a lot of white christmas tree lights. I have several small fica trees that I could use around. I thought of a trellis covered with white lights and greenery. Do you have any other ideas? Do you think I should plan the reception outside too? I like lots of candles too...
