Black At A Wedding
Just wondering...
Does anyone know the rule on the mother of the bride wearing black to the wedding?
Colors are burgandy, cream and black........

Yes,I think it`s appropriate and very elegant.At my sons wedding their colors were egg plant purple (very deep color)and silver,my dress was black with a sheer over that had silver design from the shoulder down to about the breast,nothing gaudy,very suttle.Many compliments.

My mother in law is wearing black.. I think the rules of all this should be thrown out ;) its all personal preference! do what you want & what you like.. No worries! enjoy your day!

After asking my daughter if she would mind, I polled all my friends (because back in the day it was unacceptable) and everyone said "Go for it !" I wore black and gold and would do it again. "Go for it!"
