Personalized matchboxes would be a fun favor for that wedding theme.

A 1940`s wedding?! We would be greatly interested in seeing a wedding like this. Please contact us privately with `1940s Wedding` as the subject and additional details. We would like to give the gift of our Wedding On Demand services to the couple.

That is interesting that another couple thought of the same idea that I have. I am going to have a WW2 wedding, in a large 1940`s aircraft hanger with ww2 aircraft and ww2 miltary vehicals, a live band playing 1940`s music, and my wedding party will be in vintage ww2 suits and dresses. I am interested in any other suggestions. The Reading, PA, airshow actually inspired me to do this.

We chose to use the 1940s as our inspiration for our recent wedding. My bridesmaids and I had 40s styled hair, the boys all wore morning suits, we had a 1937 ivory buick and i made a 40s reception dress from a vintage pattern. We are swing dancers so it was a natural choice for us, our reception was all swing music and the tables were named after famous nightclubs in hollywood in the 30s 40s.

My Wedding is in 2 weeks on the 28th. I`m having a 1940`s theme wedding also and I thought maybe some of the ideas we came up with could help. We decided to do the entire ceremony by candle light and white christmas lights since electricty was slim back during the war. Also, at the reception, as part of the centerpieces, we framed different years of the 40s and had facts and stats about what was going on to one side of a candle stand and on the other side we made bags of popular candies of the 40`s. Hope this helps, let me know if you need any other idea`s I have a million of them!

I would love to see pictures of the decor, or if possible, any tips or recommendations you might give. I do have the fleet of 1938 & 1940 Cadillacs lined up for rental, along with hairstyles. Any info would be a great help!
