David`s Bridal
I`ve just found this site as my daughter is getting married in May of 2005. We went to Davids in Des Moines, Iowa area last May. What a horrible experience. My daughter had an appointment for 11 am but when we got there they didn`t have her name down. We had to drive 2 1/2 hours to get there. Thank goodness they did let her try on gowns, after we had to find them and get them ourselves. The sales person didn`t know a thing and went off and started to help someone else and never got back to us. My daughter did find a dress that we both just loved. We had to find someone to get her measured to order the dress. Also we purchased her slip right away. When we got home, I noticed that the slip that was suppose to be new was all torn on the bottom, like a cat had been playing with it. So naturally we called. They did apolize for it and said we could return it when we picked up the dress. Well 3 months later, dress came in, drove another 2 1/2 hours one way to get her dress. The sales person bring out the dress, not in any sort of bag and we start looking at the dress and the hem is torn, and filthy on the bottom. The dress had lots of applique and beading on, which was fraying and the beading comeing off. So my daughter said i`m not taking this dress. I want a different one. Long story short, we had to reorder the dress 3 times beacuse of poor sewing. Beading, seams comeing apart or applique falling off. THREE times my daughter & I left that store in tears and all we heard was there is nothing we can do but try another dress. Now my daughter and I have traveled a total of 25 hours to try to get this dress and bring it home. Corporate did get invovled but they were not very nice about it and didn`t want to try to solve the problem. I was told by corporate that this applique is different that it can`t be applied without it lifting up at the edges. From the sales clerks to assisants managers to managers to corporate David`s Bridal employees in the Des Moines Iowa area are not very nice people. Both my daughter and I felt David`s Bridal didn`t want to deal with the problem on this dress so they just brushed us off. We did get our money refunded finally and for that I`m glad. Anybody I see now I tell them not to go to Davids, go somewhere else. My daughter did find another dress in at a small saloon in Rochester, MN and the staff has been just fantastic. She got a thank you note, a call thanking her and a reminder to start getting alternations started. What a difference in service!
