I Need Roles For 2 Girls
Hi
I need help - I have two girls in my family that I want involved in the wedding but not as bridesmaids. One is 7 and the other 13 any ideas what they can do? I thought the 7 year old could be a flower girl? Or is that too old?

Seven years old is the ideal age for a flower girl. She won`t get stagefright and freeze (or cry for mama) and it`s an experience she will enjoy and always remember. The older girl could be a jr. Bridesmaid. If you don`t care for that idea, she could say a poem or prayer during the ceremony or she could say grace at the reception or she could be in charge of the guest book. My husband`s two 11 year old (they are twins) cousins have special roles in our wedding. One will recite a poem at the ceremony and the other will say Grace at the reception. They aren`t part of the wedding party per se, but they will wear dresses that coordinate and they will be in some of the official wedding pictures.

A great way to involve the 13 year old is to make her your personal assistant for the day. She can follow you around and help you with those little things. It would make her feel great. The 7 year old can do many of things like the guestbook, gift table and punch bowl. The idea about them reading a special poem during the ceremony is great too!

My niece who is 11 was my daughters personal assistant through out the day. She wanted to do something but was afraid to do a reading in church. She helped the bridal party get ready, ran between the brides room and groomsmen room, fixed the brides train before she came down the aisle, passed out the flower petals as they came out of church, made sure everything was out of the room we got dressed in, manned the gift table and guest book. In the program they listed her name under "Personal Assistant to the Bride" and she also was announced at the reception as the same. She was happy and really was a BIG help!

They could do many things.. If you are having candles they could be candle lighters. Or guest book attendants. If you are having programs for your wedding they could hand out the programs to each guest as thjey walk through the door.
Hope this helps you ;)
Happy planning!
